How Daylight Saving Affects International Meeting Cadences
Handling recurrent calendar invites when different countries jump forward or fallback at different times.
Recurring calendar invites are a frequent source of missed calls in March and October. If a meeting is scheduled at 16:00 Madrid time, does it move for New York attendees when Madrid changes clocks, or does it move for Madrid when New York changes?
Calendar engines typically pin recurring events to the host's local timezone. As a consequence, remote attendees in different countries will see the meeting jump earlier or later by an hour whenever either participant's region alters its clocks. Confirming UTC timestamps eliminates ambiguity.
